In the United States, tipping 15% to 20% at sit-down restaurants is expected. In the UK and much of Europe, a service charge of around 10% to 12.5% is often added to the bill, in which case an extra tip is optional. In Pakistan and the Gulf, many restaurants add a service charge, and leaving around 5% to 10% for good service is common but not required.
Check whether service is already included before tipping. If the bill shows a service charge, enter it as the tax or service percentage and set the tip to whatever extra you want to give.
