Use the rule of thirds
Place the subject about a third of the way in from an edge for a natural look.
Trim photos to exactly what you want to show. Drag a box, choose a ratio such as 1:1 or 16:9, or type exact pixel values. You can even crop a circle for a profile picture.
Drag inside the box to move it, drag a corner to resize, or drag anywhere else to draw a new selection.
Private by design. Your images are processed by your own browser. They are never uploaded to a server, so even private or confidential photos stay on your device.
The aspect ratio decides the shape of your image. Square 1:1 suits profile pictures and many social posts, 16:9 suits video thumbnails and website banners, 4:5 suits Instagram portrait posts and 9:16 suits stories and reels.
Cropping is also the simplest way to improve a photo's composition. Removing empty space, cutting distractions from the edges, or placing your subject slightly off-centre can make an ordinary picture look much more intentional.
Place the subject about a third of the way in from an edge for a natural look.
Avoid cropping too tightly around faces and products.
The final pixel size is shown, so you know it is large enough to use.
Circle crops are saved as PNG so the corners are transparent.
Choose the 1:1 ratio, position the box and download.
